GameTavern Server Transition
 

Hello,

As you all may have noticed, GameTavern was down for maintenance most of yesterday while I moved from our old shared hosting to my private VPS.

The transition took a bit longer than I expected, mostly due to how long it took to download and re-upload everything, but for the most part it was a smooth and painless transition - just a good deal of waiting around.

I'd like to thank everyone for their patience, and if you see anything that's not working as it should, send me a private message and I'll look into it.

At this point I have transitioned the domain and the site to my registrar/server, so...I have assumed complete control. :p

The next step will be upgrading our forums to a newer version of vBulletin. I'm not 100% how I want to do that yet. I don't know if I want to opt for a feature heavy version that can serve as the main site in its own regard, or a lighter forum-only version and build out a main site myself.

I'll keep you posted and will let you know when to expect further downtime for upgrades.

GT was down? I wonder if anybody realised it? Ah but seriously thanks for keeping this place going even if we are going through a slow period!

There were people on when I brought it down. ;)

I was just going to leave it up during the transition, but that would have meant any posts made in the mean time would have been lost when I brought it back up. When I saw people on I went ahead and brought it down.
