To buy or not to buy.. before going overseas.
 

Hrm, I'm tossed into a turmoil on weither or not to purchase a palm tungsend before I head overseas. I recently acquired the job of system admistrator for my entire batallion so I'll be doing alot of computer work and what not dealing with unix and things of that nature and now I'm not sure if I should buy one or not because it might be destroyed while I am overseas by the harsh conditions of afghanistan. Whats your opinions ?

Look for protection methods. Like leather cases, dust covers, or whatnot. Or some kind of small backpack to hold the Tungsten in.

Unless the Palm is going to be participating in combat, I think it'll be fine...

Just get a standard case for it like Jonbo said. Cool job, does that mean you won't have to fight or anything?

Yeah, they're great for organizing things on the go. Definitely look for protection. And look for long-lasting batteries and stuff, too. You could also download everything you need while you're still here without worrying about it over there.
