Is it possible to..

Is it possible to get a cable to hook up your videogame systems to your computer monitor? I've been looking on the internet for a cable that could do that, but I haven't found any. It would be very convinient to be able to just play my videogames here, using the monitor as the screen.

yup. theres quite a few.

i have one, but on mine they tend to not look as smooth, sharper, but more pixelated because it wasnt meant for a computer resolution.

some games are able to do higher res tho.

then i've heard of some people having a wire that connects it to the PC and it looks great. so maybe i got the wrong one. heh.

mine tho i got from gamestop its called a Universal VGA adapter

Ah, thanks Null. I'll check that out. I didn't realize that you could get something like that at gamestop.

lik-sang.com is a good site to check for VGA adaptors if you want to buy online. Other hten that, check EB's, Gamestop, etc..and see what they have.

I think most video-cards these days have a video-in, no?

I'm using the video-out to watch DVDs (and DivX) on my TV screen.

No, most have a video out. Video inputs are a good feature to have, but even if you buy a high end card there are more variations without it than with.

Yeah you could get a LeadTEK Video Capture Card. If it's an Xbox or one of the newer systems buy the HD converter and you should have no problems running at computer resolution :)

Ati's All in Wonder series is a good choice for video in and all that other fancy stuff. But if you want to go cheap, a PCI capture card is suffice

Going cheap would be to go onboard in a video card. To buy aftermarket in a pci is much better because instead of only getting NTSC you get PAL and FM and also the correct programs and the TIVO ability.
