Ares connection problem
 

Ok I'm trying to use Ares Lite for P2P.
For a while it worked fine.

But now it won't connect to the network! :(

I DO see all the users that have my songs ready to download, but the downloading never starts. All I get is 'connecting'...
Also when I look at the options, it says it's connecting to the network.

It also messes up my other internet use. Especially the browsers can't find any websites after I've had Ares on for a while.

I'm desperate! :(

Edit: I have a feeling it might have something to do with my modem and/or opening ports.....

never heard of the program, but anyway, what did you do before it stopped working properly? maybe they changed the server IP and you need to download a patch?

firewall turned on without you knowing...somehow?

can't think of anything else right now that could have gone wrong without more info...try thinking of what programs you installed before it stopped working.

Well actually it worked yesterday, while I changed nothing.

An ex-colluege told me it had something to do with my sockets getting full, that's why my browsers ain't working.

Oh yeah, the program has this thingy: 'accept incoming from port '11282''.

i guess you should open port 11282...its not accepting incoming packets?...i dunno *shrug*

and i don't know how to open ports, so don't ask...
