you're right.
the NHL is a poorly run organization, the NFL makes it look like a bunch of buddies got together with hockey monopoly money and messed around for a while.
that's been the case for a long time, though. I'm a firm believer in the salary cap system, it makes the term "any given sunday" actually mean something.
but at this point, it's all water under the bridge...and it's clear to everyone (including yourself, obviously) that it is on the players to pony up and make the best out of the situation.
