It's probably for the best you can't get him the picture. I mean, being GameMaster and all, who
knows what he'd do while looking at the thing...
On a more serious note, sounds like you've got a lot of miscommunications that cause a lot of problems. I can really relate to that, as I really had a similar problem with my ex five or six years ago. It's sad that you were driven to things you wouldn't normally do, but it sounds like you feel optimistic that things will get better. Here's hoping.
