And there isnt a lot of difference between the terms of hispanic/latino, and spaniard.
Latino/hispanic: Someone who speaks spanish, commonly used for Latin America.
Spaniard: One who lives in, or decended from Spain.

Yes I need a lame personal victory every once in awhile, I'm petty what can I say.
No there
is a rather large difference, but it wouldn't seem so from your definitions, which, while pretty close, are still way off. For one, latino does no mean someone who speaks Spanish. And for two, Spaniard means exactly a native or inhabitant of Spain, not descended from. I'm anal or try to be anal about words, I like them to have exact meanings and for people to use them correctly.
And the reason I guessed that you don't have many latino friends because they would have jumped on you before a lot harder than I did for calling them Spaniards. It's like the Canadians I know who get mad when they're referred to as Americans abroad.
