What's with you guys and bitmaps? Do you not know how old, funky, and outdated those are?? The quality is poor, the file size is just plain disgusting, and it takes forever to open them. At least save them as pict files...
Just kidding. Save anything you planning on displaying on the internet in jpeg. It's quality almost matches that of pict files with 50-75% less the file size. I also format my desktop wallpapers as jpeg but if you have super eyes that can tell the diffrence of quality between jpeg and pict, go ahead and save them as pict (if your hard drive can handle it
