If I had the money for a new Mac, I would buy a new Mac. So far no kernel panics, no upgrade issues. I already plan on having to reformat for 10.5.2, so yeah, obviously upgradability isn't there.
But it works right now, and I'm content.

It's not for the faint of heart or those unwilling to back up their hard drive and reformat with no guarantee of success. And I definitely wouldn't do it without a Core 2 Duo (AMD processors and single cores processors are all but impossible). Even then, many of the compatibility obstacles can be hard to overcome. I luckily built this PC with OSx86 in mind and bought a lot of semi-compatible hardware, but it can be done without that extra step.
Realistically, it's more than a couple steps to make it work.
