Why aren't there cross-game invites? Does it not show what games your friends are playing?

I was watching the video flunkie posted and it looks like the developers did a good job of utilizing all the space they have. That's an issue I have with the 360 dashboard. It extremely under utilizes the space, and I really don't like the advertisements.
