I never read the comics but I did watch all the TV shows as a kid and the movies. I can't imagine how this could be any good unless they retained the campiness of the old movies. The only problem is campiness is out and "dark" and "brooding" is in aka the Dark Knight and new Bond films.

On the other hand, this just smells like a plan to make money. And the MPAA wonders why no one gives a shit that people pirate movies....
