I'll add some more information and see if your opinions are the same:

We had been exploring the first level of the house with a group of people, four to five including us, but after that was done I talked to her alone for around 20 minutes. She then said we should, "go explore upstairs." A guy who was sitting next to us but not in our conversation then said, "You could be a little more subtle than that."

I interpreted it as she actually did want to go explore the upstairs, but I can often be quite the literalist.
