Any excitement for the Olympics is definitely tempered. It's sad as hell. I'm actually going to delete that post because I don't really want to seem insensitive and I didn't quite mean it to be that jokey. It's just a really bad way to start these Olympics. I guess especially with these high-flying downhill events, it will be tough to keep the recent accident out of my head.

If you are talking about the luge then lighten up...those guys are crazy as fuck; as Robin Williams joked:
What drunken, German gynecologist invented this sport? What guy went, "I want to dress like a sperm, shove an ice skate up my ass, and ride balls first down an ice chute. Ya. That would be fun." ?
Was it a tragedy....yes. Could there have been better safety precautions....probably. Is there still an extreme risk in participating in any extreme sport be it nascar, snowboarding, extreme skiing, dirtbiking, the one where they flip their snowmobile, the luge, etc. ....YES.
I thought the opening ceremonies were good. The Winter Olympics are so much better than the Summer ones.
Good job Canada!
