Post Re: Top 5 Favorite Games of All-Time

OK. So the browser went back after I had written a good amount of text so screw this, this is the readers digest version:

Zelda: a Link to the Past - This game is timeless, has aged well and keeps me coming back to it without tiring me, unlike it's bigger brother OOT which I'm a little burnt out of despite how good it is.

Portal 1 - 2 - This game has truly innovative gameplay done right from the first time it introduced it. The characters and story line are well thought out and well presented. The sound track is really cool too. All in all this is a one-of-a-kind game.

Phantasy Star Online - This is the game that got me into online rpgs (MMO or not). The story line is amazing without the need of trying to impress you. It was more of a subtle story that got you very, very interested in it and the scenery of every part kept your interest in the planet Ragol and its mysteries. The Soundtrack is awesome and the last of its kind. The gameplay hasn't aged all that well though. It is simple and fun but it can get boring if you play the game too much. Still the timer was above 100 hours and this is considering that I lost my save files due to a glitch that sega caused when trying to fix an exploit. I must have spent above 300 hours on this game, maybe even 400+.

Team Fortress 2 - The game is still going strong so you should know everything about it. It's a class based multiplayer FPS which was very balanced when it came out but not that much anymore. It's still great but there are some people hacking on the free servers which made me quit it for some time.

And Last but not least

Silent Hill 2 - This game showed every other survival horror how it's done. Even my favorite ( at the time) Resident Evil which was on its way down. The atmosphere keeps you in suspense even when nothing is happening. The storyline kept you thinking and wasn't too easy to figure out. This is easily the best in the series in my opinion. And the third was was really good too.

Disclaimer : Only Link to the past is in order of preference as it is my favorite game of all time. I don't care enough about putting them in order anyways.

Honorable Mentions - Mario 64 got 3d controls done right from the start even though it was the first one of its kind. Before it, games like Tomb Raider had a static camera behind your character which held back 3D little.
Others : RE2, RE4, Metroid Prime (the whole series), Wrestlemania 2000, Golden Eye,
