I always turn all the power points in my room off overnight. My stereo has a little standby light which I see at night if I've forgotten. But the AC adaptor for my modem gets pretty warm if left on, and the computer speakers make a low hum even when they're turned off, so I just turn everything off when I go to sleep.

As for disks in the 'Cube, I always leave them in there. Mainly for the issues of damage when putting them in/out all the time as mentioned above.
