PS2s are still selling because people are ignorant and have no defense against the Sony Hype Machine. It has nothing to do with the games, it's all about the subliminal messages Sony is sending everyone. I can hear it now..."If you want to be cool, you must buy a PS2"...but you're a stronger man than I am, Jonbo...you won't buy into it. Fight the power.
