Funny how I never started watching the show... and how I never reread the books.
My current plan is: wait for him to finish his books (if ever), read through all of it, then watch the show.
It's weird though; I knew the books long before the show aired. Now most of my friends are huge fans, while I have paused my fandom. Right now I have to avoid spoilers from them, instead of the other way around.

And I did, it's a great series of books. And apparently it's getting its own series, BBC. You should look into it.
