Halo 3 Announcement Feb 9th

If you beat the game on legendary, in the credits you will see "Coming February 9th"

A lot of people seem to think it is the Halo 3 announcement. A lot of other people think Rare and Bungie have been working on it for 3 years and it will release 2005.

I personally think it is the release date for Halo 3, which is what I have been thinking for a while now, even before I heard this. One of my friends and I were talking today, and we both agreed that Halo 3 would probably be released very soon, and I told him "I bet it's out by February". I don't own an Xbox, but I was planning on buying one almost exclusively for Halo 2.

And releasing Halo 3 soon after Halo 2 is actually an ingenious money making scheme. M$ are rich greedy b******s. They wait FOREVER to release Halo 2, sequal to one of the greatest games ever, and people eat it up. They rush madly to the stores, they buy their copies, and thus Halo 2 makes about 1.6 Mill in one night. A friend of mine went to EB the night it was released, and he was last in line. The guy told him "We only have 11 left". He bought all 11 of them, and is selling the rest on Ebay for 100 dollars a piece. THAT is how badly people want it, and THATS how much they'll pay, and THATS how much money M$ is making.

If they wait a few months and release Halo 3, guess what? Just as many people will buy it. They love it that much.

I also believe that Halo 3 has actually been in the making for the past several years, and that it will be a much more "complete" and fulfilling game that Halo 2. I predict that the story in Halo 3 will be awesome, and make up for the lack of a long campaign in Halo 2.

Maybe they had always planned on releasing Halo 3 at that time. It just is closer because of all the times Halo 2 was delayed and they didn't want to delay Halo 3.

Then again, we might all be off. It might be a huge tournament. Or when the aliens take over...

the clues are there:

Halo sountrack says "Halo 2 Soundtrack Volume One"

Bungie princess describes an ending that isn't in Halo 2, one that "made her cry"

Can you say Halo 2 Volume 2? Sounds like Kill Bill type marketing to me...

I mean why sell 3 million copies of one game, when you can sell 6 million of two games within 6 months.... Bungie and M$ will be filthy rich!!!!!!! Who's not going to buy the next game with a cliff hanger like that?

They wish. Besides, if Rare was working on it tehre'd still be two more years of development time left. Assuming there are no delays -_-.

Anyway, if it is declaring the release date of Halo 3 (or Halo 2 pt. II, whatever), they better make an official release pretty soon. I seriously doubt that that many people will beat the game on Legendary. And I'm sure a lot (if not most) of the people will read about the "unofficial" annoucement. A secret release will slip past a whole lot of people.

I'm betting this is either announcing a downloadable extension or the press release of Halo 3. Or a press release declaring the downloable extension. Something like that.

It might be bungies next game... which is NOT halo 3.

Bungie has already stated they have NO plans for or against another sequal for halo. thier next game is not halo 3.

then again, that date prolly means absolutly nothing. and bungie just knows that any little thing like that will spark hype out the wazoo for em.

Hey, I was reading around on this, and there are a lot of people who are just calling this a rumor. Apparently, even Bungie has denied a "Coming February 9th" thing at the end of the game.

So, have you actually seen this message or did you just read about it? If you've just read about it...

It must've been a weird coincidence but when I opened the link, I hit ctrl F in FireFox, typed the word Halo and FireFox crashed on me...it must be a sign to not search for Halo/2/3 but to search for Half Life 2
