LOST Tonight (2/9) - "What Kate Does"
I have a bad feeling there won't be many answers this show... but who knows.
P.S. Kate should date me.

HAHAHHA WTF was that?
Also it was funny seeing Mac from it's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

I wasn't a fan of that episode.
Probably one of my least favourite episodes, to be honest.
I hate the Kate-centric ones.
But "LOL" at Mac from IASIP.

would have been hilarious if they somehow made it a cross over and he was playing Mac who got stranded on the island.

Re: LOST Tonight (2/9) - "What Kate Does"
I was talking to Bond earlier, and came up with this:
In the first 2-3 seasons of the show, you take the title literally. They're Lost. They are on an island, and have no idea why, or where they are. But now, I've looked at it metaphorically. If it wasn't for The Island, they wouldn't have faced their demons, or admitted their faults and flaws as people - as is apparent with the alternate timeline, where they continue on as the same flawed people they always were to begin with.

Oh Kate, bringing nothing to the show yet again.
At least there was "You're not a zombie right?" "No I am not a zombie" and "We'll be in the food court." And I kinda liked the interactions between Jack and Dogen.

Re: LOST Tonight (2/9) - "What Kate Does"
How many? 15 episodes left? And they still have time to beat around the bush?
C'mon, no one wants melodrama about love anymore. We just want answers.
More notes on the alternate universe:
1. Claire still names her boy-to-be Aaron.
2. Kate still ends up helping Claire with her childbirth.
3. Claire presumably ends up keeping the baby herself.
4. Kate is still a scofflaw.
5. Dr. Ethan is there to help Claire in her pregnancy just like on the island, presumably because the island is destroyed and he never went there. Still, the coincidences are running high here.
6. Most interestingly, Kate seems to have a feeling of deja-vu when she hears Claire name the baby Aaron. A similar moment to Jack recognizing Desmond when on the plane. But, both situations could just be coincidence. Jack I think had met Desmond before. Kate may have just been surprised that Claire knew the name already.
Other thoughts:
So Sayid is not Jacob? It appears that way. So what is he? And apparently it relates to Claire.
EDIT: I forgot that Ethan was born on the island to Amy and Horace. How they ended up getting together off the island, and having a baby also named Ethan who also became a doctor is awfully coincidental.
Maybe the whole end of the season will be the two realities converging. The new universe being what would have happened, and the final end of the original timeline being that it never happened.

Re: LOST Tonight (2/9) - "What Kate Does"
Ethan was already born at the time of the incident. Ethan's mom probably evacuated the island with him, and Horace probably died.

Oh yeah, so not quite as coincidental.

Re: LOST Tonight (2/9) - "What Kate Does"
I don't think it's a literal alternate Universe, but rather just a "Hey, this is what would have happened if they never went to the Island."
Instead of a flashback or flashforward, they're just doing flash sideways'.

Incorrect. It is an alternate reality. Showing you what would have happened for shits and giggles makes no sense narratively, especially since it's the final season.
Blowing up the island with a bomb caused an alternate timeline that stems from that moment onwards. I'm pretty sure the producers confirmed this.

Not to mention that if it was just showing what would've happened, why is everything slightly askew? and why would the characters seem to have weird reactions to Aarons name, jack meeting desmond, etc.

Re: LOST Tonight (2/9) - "What Kate Does"
This is a good theory I came across on the alternate timelines:
"The events in the show still coincide with "whatever happened, happened". Even though the bomb went off, and the Losties went back to 2007, all the things they had accomplished still occurred (at least in this "main timeline"). This is known by the fact that when Sawyer goes back to the Dharma village everything is still wrecked ala the smoke monster when it destroyed all the people from the freightor AND the fact that the things Sawyer had burried in his house were still there. So his life with Juliet did still occur back in 1977. Daniel was wrong, the bomb didnt change anything. The true "Reset" has not occurred yet, and will be a result of what happens with the survivors who are currently at the temple and with Flock/MIB. This "true reset" is what will lead to what we are seeing as an alternate timeline back in 2004."
