The swordplay wouldn't work in Zelda; it's too acrobatic. It also kind of focuses more on throwing tons of enemies at you rather than having tough enemies and such.

I think Link should never talk.

I thought Link was supposed to represent the player (I read that somewhere.)

So I never want Link to speak.

The other characters can't speak either. I have voices for them inside my head.

Is it weird I have voices inside my head?

Yes. very wierd. But alas, I completely agree with you. I dont want ANYONE to talk. Not link, not zelda, none of the other characters, NO ONE! I'm hoping shiggy doesnt make them talk, and knowing him, he wont.

I like the idea of jumping. They should let us have Roc's Feather in this game.

If characters don't talk, are they still gonna make retarded noises when you talk to them? Because that'd be kinda weird with that kind of dark realistic look...

Speaking of which, do you think the villagers will still look like dumby-faces?

And yes, dumby-faces are also a staple of the zelda series.

Why do we need an item to make Link jump? That was just for the GameBoy... kinda. Just use the L button to jump!! R to shield! Z to target (not hold, that wouldn't work with shielding).

No, I don't mean an item to make Link normally jump. There shouldn't be manual jumping for just normal things. The choice to give the 3D Zelda's automatic jumping was correct. Having to manually jump across small gaps to get to another platform would just get tiresome and turn Zelda into too much of a platformer.

What I'm talking about is an item that allows you jump REALLY high or REALLY far, within reason. Like I said, it could be used to jump across large canyons that the regular auto jump can't do, and to jump up to maybe an otherwise unreachable cliff.

It'd open up some interesting puzzle oppurtunities.

And what is wrong with voice-acting from characters other than Link? Keeping the game text just keeps the game behind the times.

I think everyone EXCEPT Link, Zelda, Gannon...dorf...should talk. Everyone except the main characters. I too have pre-determined voices for them, and it would wreck it all. But i think the people in villages should talk for the most part. They should NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER have Link talk thats for sure, but Zelda and Gannon i could deal with..

.....You seem to confusing voice acting with communicating a bit...especially in that last sentence....

Anyway...

I think we all are in agreement that Link shouldn't speak, so theres no reason for anybody to "debate" about it until somebody supports Link speaking.

Just pointless.

But at that time, obviously, we still had questions about if we’ve gone with this decision because Link’s a boy, what do we do the next time when we decide to make a game when Link is more grown up, and how are we going to create Link in a cel-shaded style as an adult. After a lot of discussion, what we decided was the best graphical presentation for an adult link was this style.

I was'nt debating that he shouldnt speak...i was stating my opinion, as much as anyother here.
and no, i wasnt confusing communicating with voice acting. The village people should have voice acters, is what i meant to say. And i dont get how in the last sentance im confusing it?? All i said was that Link shouldnt talk, but i could deal with it if Zelda and Gannondorf did.

If the main characters don't talk I don't think the other characters should talk......it would seem unbalanced. Link, Ganon and Zelda can't talk but everybody else in the game can? You either let everyone talk or not. I'm voting for the not.

Hmmmmmm I would like some new items besides the usually ones, not sure what they should be.

And maybe Link can wield atleast 2 other weapons like a staff or two swords and his fight style would change with the weapons. ( imagine pole volting over chasm with a staff )

Also 2 more shields for Link wouldn't be bad. Like a shield that absords physical and magical attacks and sends them back as a projectile. Hmmmmmmmmm I haven't play Zelda in a while is that what the mirror shield does already?

The horseback riding and fighting seems very cool, I saw a shot where link was being chased I wonder if he can do a trick and turn around and shoot arrows and then turn back around and keep riding.

Maybe they will have a big war where Link and some soldiers will have to defend a castle from an invasion. Imagine running through the castle hall helping people and beating enemies senseless.

More use of the environment would be nice, like getting behind a statue and pushing it on enemies. Or slashing a rope and some object falls from the ceiling and smashes somebody.

Oh yeah, it would be great if they made use of a weather system, they should have a weather guy in the main town, that sends you the kind of weather they are going to have every seven days and based on the weather you should be able to unlock certain sidequests.

Neways that's all i can think of for now
