Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010
It first goes to a 2OT, and then it is possible the game ends in a tie. I believe it happened a few years ago with an Eagles game.

No, it just ends in a tie after 1 OT.
There are ties maybe every 6 or 7 years or so in the NFL, and I remember because it's happened to the Eagles a couple times. The Eagles tied the friggin' Bengals last year and it sparked a big controversy because McNabb said he "didn't know games could end in ties." Funnily enough, if they lost that game instead of tied, they wouldn't have gone to the playoffs, so in a way the tie bailed the Eagles out last year.
In the playoffs you go to as many OTs as you need to and whoever scores first wins.

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010
Iggles all over the Panthers 31-10 at half. Wow, I'm very surprised. I really thought the Eagles might lose this game. Not that they still can't, but it's looking pretty good right now. Delhomme is really still off his game after that 5 INT game last year in the playoffs.

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010
So McNabb is hurt again..but I'm not really surprised. He had a rib injury when someone fell on top of him while he ran in for a TD. I guess he'll be out for a while. That means we only have Kolb until week 3. Maybe we'll be seeing Vick sooner than we thought.

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010
Haha, wow. What is it with Chicago and quarterbacks? It's like a curse. They could get Joe Montana in his prime and put him in a Chicago uniform and he'd suddenly throw 4 INTs in a game.

Epic throw from Rodgers to Jennings.
Our defense looks so good.

I think prior to last night, we have beat Green Bay the last 7 out of 10 times. So yeah...the Bears defense usually fairs pretty well against you guys (which they did last night, Rogers looked pretty shaken up).
But you guys deserved to win. The Bears offense played like shit. Any team that throws 4 Interceptions deserves to lose, I'm just amazed it wasn't by a larger amount (Bears defense...).
Jay Cutler will settle down. He won't be a total disaster. The receivers will get the hang of the routes. /prays

Cutler will definitely settle down. I saw Urlacher might be out for the season, though.

Yeah...I heard something like that. Hopefully he'll make a recovery. The irony here is that they were hyping up how this was his first season where he was healthy, no back problems, nothing....He's getting kind of old though and he's definitely past his glory days. But he has like a 10 year contract with The Bears and I'm not sure what year it is. I think he gets a little over hyped these days though based on his history.
Anyway...what are your thoughts on Favre and the Vikings? Favre did not play good. Adrian Peterson WAS the offense. I'm really surprised the Vikings won...I expected Favre to pull a Cutler. Thoughts on how Favre will fare in future games?

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010
I'd assume Favre will play a similar role in future games, except when the Vikings face either a superb defense, or when Adrian Peterson is just having an off day. Favre seems to serve now as a simple game manager, which is quite a giant leap from his days of gun-slinging. Sad in one respect, but I suppose also natural at his age.
I would not be surprised if he posts a low INT total in comparison to his last five years.
Anyone know how long McNabb is out for?

He's going to try to play this weekend. I guess it's all a pain tolerance thing. It's not like a rib can be any more broken. I wouldn't be totally surprised if he plays. He once threw for over 300 yds and 4 TDs when he broke his ankle in the 2nd quarter, so he's a pretty tough dude.
If I were the Eagles I would just start Kolb the next two weeks. If he goes 1-1, that will be fine. Then the Eagles get a bye and head into a more difficult schedule against division opponents after that and it would be good to have McNabb somewhat more healed

God the Dolphins looked horrible the first game of the season. This is not going to be a good year for us.
