I just got 3 stitches

I know it ain't much, but a got a sist removed beneath my ear. And now the anasthetic (sp?) wore off and now I'm in pain. Is that normal with stitches? I would think it is but it's just real annoying coz it's a long weekend here in Australia (god bless the Queens bday), and I'm stuck at home coz I'm in too much pain to go out

I've never had the old fashioned stitches. I've had these stitches that eventually dissolve and fall off. 1st time was wisdom teeth pulling. Then back surgery. So I can't really say whether the pain stays for a good time or not.

Ive never had stitches, but I used to have a sist in my wrist. It actually used to bother me some as a kid, but I never had it removed, and now I think it kinda went away, because I never feel it anymore, and you cant see it.

when I was a little kid I was biking in the Rocky Mountains and hit a rock, went over the handlebars and landed on my forehead, continued to scrape down the dirt path and fell into a 6 foot ditch. That was 12 stitches...the scar isn't really visible anymore because it's mostly above my hairline.

When i got stabbed i had stitches and i was in pain after the anasthetic wore off but that could just be because i was stabbed.

Are they gonna knock you out? They did that to me. I'm not sure if they gave me the anesthetic for the wisdom teeth pulling or the Root Canal (both done the same day/time). So I got lucky

I've had stitches 4 times. Twice on my chin, I don't know what happened though, once on my leg when I cut it on the chain of a bike when I was learning how to ride a bike. And once on my wrist, because I accidentally stabbed myself. I think I was using an exacto knife to cut a hole in a cardboard box, and it got stuck in the cardboard and when I pulled it out I used a lot of force and I accidentally stabbed myself somehow. It's not too bad, stitches just feel awkward, but I don't remember how painful it was.

I got some stitches right on my eyebrow after I hit it on a door...I felt like a fool.

I had 4 of them a few months ago. I was unlocking my friends locker and he came up behind me to scare me and he pushed me into the locker. My head slammed into the locker on a grate and I got cut. I was like OW! Then he was like dude your bleeding. And he put his hand over it and freaked out cause there was a ton of blood. Everyone in the hall went from HAHAHAHAHA to OMG! We went to the bathroom and whipped it off and he was like DUDE OMG I'M SO SORRY. It was really funny altho I was bleeding really bad and it hurt.

We went to the nurse and I asked her to wrap my head up like a solder who gets shot isn't he head

So walking thru school I looked so funny. Then I went to the doctors and got 4 real stiches. Fun stuff.

It is fun, but just coz it's fun doesn't mean it's not dangerous. I hope you people make sure that you have a friend handy before you go on and run into a tree or something. The fun factor is just too tempting to resist.

lol, sounds simalar to me, except it was the left eyebrow, after walking into a corner of a wall. I had to get blue stiches
