In some games learning combos don't even effect how skilled you are at the game. There is no point in learning a combo when all you have to do is block, duck, and punch to win, or when it is too easy to land a hit in the first place. IMHO, Soul Calibur requires no skill. You could take the average guy who is good at any fighting games and he will naturally be good at SC. Games that require true skill are MKA and VF4.

ok. MK, is the apidimy of a crappy fighter. VF4 i found decent but not as good as SC in anyway close.

im not tryin to convince you to like it. But take all your button masking techniques up against me and i garentee you i will squash you in that game and you prolly wont even land a hit.

Block? i can break the block, duck? i'll hit you low, jump? i'll hit you high. punch? i'll deflect it.

depending on who you play with yes, the game can be a complete button masher. Take the time to learn the game, and it hops up on a whole nother level.
