It's all about perception. Video games are a target because it is perceived, and correctly perceived IMO, that the industry does not do enough to regulate itself. There is a ratings sytem, but it is not well known nor does anyone really care.

Meanwhile the WWE, while it has had its own battles in its heyday with the PTC as well as other groups, is perceived by the public to do a better job as its more explicit programs are on after 9 PM or available only through PPV.

Movies are also much more tightly regulated by their own industry, and it also doesn't hurt when your industry is considered an artform and not just simply a kids game.

The big problem here is popularity. No one would care if games weren't so popular.
