Talent isn't the only determing factor, I think sound should be first. Kurt Cobain was a bum. He ripped off countless musicians, including The Mevlins (same high school, i'm sure you don't listen to them), he wasn't particularly great at guitar, but he still sounded good.

And if that comment was directed at me, that's really unfair. You should have pointed that at the people shooting down the James Blunt album because I made a comparison to Dave Matthews. I hold my comment valid, because if all you listen to is mainstream music, then you are missing out on a lot of cool stuff you won't ever hear on MTV or the radio. And 99% of the "talent" lies outside the mainstream box. Drumming, guitar playing, bass playing, the virtuoso crap lies outside the box.
