Looking at all the video and news about this game, I can't imagine this won't be one of the best games ever made, unless all that has been released so far is a complete lie.
The more videos I watch, the more it looks amazing. The animation has really improved, the combat looks very fun, voice acting is amazing as ever. I'm so glad we dont have to wait much longer.
Combine, Swan, and myself have started new games in Mass Effect 1 to get ready for ME 2. I had forgotten how much fun it was.
I might actually buy a used 360 for this game based on this one thing i just read:
Quote:
The first teaser trailer for this game gives the impression that Commander Shepard has been killed in action,[25] but a later trailer shows that Shepard is still alive at the beginning of the game. Players themselves can dictate whether or not Shepard will die based on choices that they make throughout the game. BioWare Executive Producer Casey Hudson explained that "If you do die in the ending of Mass Effect 2, it will not come as a surprise, nor will it be random. It will be pretty obvious that you headed into the final mission knowing that Shepard probably wouldn’t make it out alive." Hudson also confirmed that team members would be affected by the player's decisions during the final mission: "You might have an ending where Shepard’s entire team survives, or where the entire mission is a bloodbath and everyone (including Shepard) is killed, or anything in between."[26] The ending in which Shepard is killed represents a permanent death, rather than one where the player simply reloads from the last saved game, meaning Shepard would not be available for Mass Effect 3 in that scenario.

Count me on that list. I even started it as the default John Shepherd so it would be a experience more true to the intentions of the authors. I also have a saved Biotic complete game, so we'll which one I want to import into ME2 (I know you can switch classes in ME2, but to me thats cheating).
The more I look, though, the more engineer looks like an attractive option.
I'm glad it provides an option to change classes - I want to be a full engineer rather than an infiltrator.
I find it a little amusing you guys are so hyped about this game (which you should be, don't get me wrong), but dismissed Dragon Age so easily when I brought it up.
It's another really good character and choice driven RPG, which I've been enjoying for a while now. ME2 will probably be better than it, but DA is better than ME1.

With all the drastic improvements to classes, I wonder how they'll upgrade Soldier? I completely my replay as a soldier now, and I have to say I enjoyed the class even though it's your basic run and gun avatar. Having biotic and tech people in your party, you can divert fire to yourself and then clean up the floating and disabled Geth and Krogan.
But seeing the new class characteristics, I'm starting to think they really need to pump up the Soldier class a good bit to make it worth playing.
