2009: The 10 songs that were stuck in your Head.
Hey guys. This thread isn't about good music. It's not about music with any substance at all.
It's about the 10 songs that were stuck in your head. For me it's all pop, because at work that's what we listened to and let me say you find yourself humming or singing some bad shit sometimes and you're like "WTF is wrong with me?"
So here is my list, what was yours. Be it good or bad, let me know what got... STUCK IN YOUR FUCKING HEAD.
10. Jordin Sparks - Battlefield
I got drunk one night and listened to this song on repeat 39 times, my friend Carrie counted them because she couldn't sleep thanks to it. Bahahaha.
9. Kings of Leon - Use Somebody
I've always been a big fan of this band, but let me just say this is not their best work, nor did I enjoy it as much as their older work, but god damn if I didn't find myself singing this song around the clock for a month.
8. Chris Brown ft. Lil Wayne & Swizz Beatz - Transform ya
Even after Chris Brown beat the shit outta his bitch, I still can't get this shit outta my head. He can transform ya, if you open your mouth he can transform it, into a bloody gash.
7. Lady Gaga - Poker Face
I heard this song at a gay bar performed by the fattest drag queen I have ever seen who was visiting from Atlanta, GA. After her song we went out and asked it what the song was. Very soon we were hooked on all things gaga. That was in early January of 09. It's near the end and I still bust out into random gaga seizures and it's almost 2010. Lady Gaga, doing it for god and the gays. I love that bitch.
6. Keri Hilson ft. Kanye West and Ne-yo - Knocks your down
This bitch came along and knocked me down with a song I couldn't stop grooving to all year. I even went as far as to learn all of the lyrics to Kanye's parts so I could beat along. So what we gon have dessert or disaster?
5. Jay Sean ft. Lil Wayne - Down
I have decided that any song that has Lil Wayne in it is going to get stuck in my head, so if I see the words "ft. Lil Wayne" I try to stay away from it. I've decided that's impossible.
4. Owl City - Fireflies
I couldn't find the actual video that had embedding enabled, so I present this cute video instead. This song dropped on the radio one day and I was hooked with electronica and fireflies. Fuck. Guy wrote it when he was unable to sleep. I have trouble sleeping all the time, maybe I should learn to play music. Fuck.
3. The Black Eyed Peas - I got a feeling
How could this song not get stuck in my head, and oh the nights that started with this song that ended in me passing out. Those were good fucking nights. Then this song spawned one of the best flashmobs ever. When you can make oprah freak the fuck out, well that's impressive.
2. Lady Gaga - Romance & Lady Gaga - Telephone
Well there is a huge tie for number 2 here. The Fame Monster was released and once again I was gaga for gaga. OMFG. Is there anything she can do wrong? I think not. Beyonce even joined in the crazy fun that is gaga. JEEZUS.
1. Michael Jackson - Thriller
Well the king of pop bit the big one this year... But you know what? He blew up on the radio again, for so many weeks i couldn't go without hearing thriller 100 times a day it seemed. Club remixes of his most popular songs... Everything Michael this year. R.I.P. MJ, who cares if you touched little boys? Your shit is so catchy.

Yeah. Owl City is a horrible, horrible bastardization of what the Postal Service did a good job of. I hate that song a lot. Yes, I know this thread isn't about "good music", so I can say it sucks.
Re: 2009: The 10 songs that were stuck in your Head.
When I first heard that Owl City I though it was Gibbard on Vocals, figured it was a new Death Cab or Postal Service song. I actually think the song is pretty catchy, not nearly as good as some of Death Cab / postal service stuff, but still pretty good.

The dude's from Owatonna, just fifty or so miles from me, so I gotta give him props. He's actually a pretty cool dude. My buddies are in a band and turned playing with his old band a little while back before he took off with Owl City. Being a kid who plays around with MIDI sequencing and poptronica myself, I have a soft spot for his sound.
