Default What's the next musical revolution?

Pop music has remained fairly unchanged since the 50s or so as far as basic formula. Rap may be a slight departure from this, but still pop music has been mostly beat driven and still shares a strong resemblance to the rock 'n roll pop of the 50s and 60s.

Personally, I'm not tired of the current state of affairs. Many have said that rock is dead, but it continues to reinvent itself in slight ways and remain relevant. But, it still makes me curious when pop music will no longer consist of mostly sounds that can be generated with a guitar, keyboard, or drums or some combination there of.

Where do you think the future of music lies?
