I'm a big Star Wars fan (which, surprisingly, I don't think has ever really come up on this board). My wife and I watched through all of The Clone Wars leading up to the new season on Disney+. Since that's finished and since my wife never saw Rebels, we're working our way through that.

I think I'm enjoying Rebels more than the first time now that I know how it all shakes out and with the rumors about Mandalorian season 2.

My wife and I have also been working through the Harley Quinn cartoon on the rare occasion the kids are gone. When it was originally announced I was very disinterested in the show. I'm not generally a fan of taking things that we knew as children (in this case, superheroes) and trying to make them as ADULT as possible. Seems the opposite of "adult" in general.

Then I heard some good things about the show, so we tried the first episode but the opening scene is basically a "This is not your Daddy's DC Universe" manifesto and put me right off. My wife also said it was "too much", so we stopped there.

But then I kept hearing really good things about it and saw a couple of clips that were pretty funny so we tried it again and this time forced our way through the first episode and ultimately enjoyed it.

Currently I think we're just a couple of episodes from being caught up.

The language is gratuitous, but it doesn't skimp on characterization so there is depth there. Its not just cursing and violence because, tee hee, these are children's characters swearing and slicing people in half, you know? When it does parody a character (in this case, most of the good guys are mainly satirical versions of themselves) it does so without criticizing those characters, but poking fun at their idiosyncrasies in a sort of affectionate way.

Anyway, its a pretty fun show. Recommend.

For TV series,

Catch-22 It's quite good. I like the novel and the TV show lived up to it except for the cut-short ending that didn't include, what I thought to be, the most powerful part of the book.

Peaky Blinders - It's hyped for a reason

Space Force - Better than the haters said. A modern TV show that makes fun of both parties.

Yellowstone - Kevin Costner ranching drama. It's over the top but good.

The Mandalorian of course.

Detectorists - I didn't bother with the newest season cuz it went full blown SJW lame. The original 2 seasons got me into the detecting hobby. Bought an AT gold Garrett detector.

The Boys - The show keeps outdoing itself. It's MA content. Pretty funny

Barry - Looking forward to the next season. Bill Hader

I want to recommend Warrior on HBO Max and The Flight Attendant on HBO Max.

Both really enjoyable shows.

Flight Attendant keeps screaming at me anytime I open HBO Max, but I was avoiding looking at it primarily because it felt like marketing winning out. Now that you've brought it up, though, I looked it up and see its been getting good reviews so I might check it.

Don't know that I noticed Warrior previously, but I see that its based on a pitch Bruce Lee made in the 70s which is nuts and it also seems to have decent review.

I don't get into a lot of shows (taking us forever to get through Community right now), but these are a couple that might be worth checking out. Thanks.
