There's a Neverending Story III? What's it based on?

Dude, I dunno. I just watched Jurassic Park and the Lost World. The Lost World is an okay adaptation of the book, although Spielberg did fuck a lot of the stuff up. The bottom line is there are T-rex es, as in more than one. And raptors. And people being eaten. I haven't seen the third movie since it was in theaters many moons ago, so that is next....
I think The Lost World is a bad movie, especially compared to Jurassic Park...but the critics really tore it a new asshole when in reality it is an okay monster movie.
Anyway, AWESOME contributions form Typhoid and Seth. I have a lot of movies to watch. The Dollars trilogy is fucking awesome, I can't believe I didn't think about that...Clint Eastwood is one of my favorite anti-heroes.

If anything I'm amazed it stops at 3. It's the neverending story, after all.
Anyways, I actually have no idea what it's about. I've only ever seen the first one. I'd say it's a safe bet to forget it exists considering there's probably good reason it's existence isn't common knowledge.
Here's this gem from wikipedia:
Quote:
The film received overwhelmingly negative reviews. Movie-vault.com gave the film 1 out of 10, stating: "This movie has removed any kind of magic the original movie had", concluding "There is not a single redeeming value about this movie. If you see a copy of this movie, BURN IT!"[1] Variety stated : "The Neverending Story lives up to its title in the worst way possible with this third outing, a charmless, desperate reworking of the franchise that might just as well be subtitled Bastian Goes to High School."

Re: Best Trilogy?
Ah. Yeah.
The Neverending Story 2 was also pretty bad, but at least it was based on the second half of the book. Which I still have to read by the way... Was I stupid for starting a book in German?

I didn't realize any of these series had a 3rd entry in them?

Re: Best Trilogy?
ahaha
The Gods Must be Crazy 1+2+3 (3rd is some japanese production. Looks hilariously bad, prob won't watch it. The first two are some of my best childhood film memories. Seriously, watch the first one. Light hearted comedy.)
Riddick?
oh, Men In Black

Re: Best Trilogy?
Bump since Angrist mentioned LoTR in the other thread
And I guess we can now add The Dark Knight Trilogy to our list of trilogies. If that works.

I just watched Men in Black 3. Full confession...I haven't seen 2 and I don't plan on it.
3 was okay. Definitely a renter...and pretty silly. Josh Brolin is my mancrush, and he's a good actor. But even he couldn't keep the movie full of levity...which is a reminder of how good the original Men in Black was. That first movie was good! It was funny, quirky, had a good awareness about itself.
I'd buy Men In Black for keeps, but I'd leave the rest of the trilogy alone.

Re: Best Trilogy?
I actually really liked MIB3, it was WAY better than 2 anyways. The villian in MIB3 sucked, but other than that it was good.
And I would hardly call Ace Ventura a trilogy, that third film is a huge bastard child.

Re: Best Trilogy?
Back to the Future is probably the most fun trilogy I can think of.
