I hear music on the radio, if I like it I download it. Most bands make good and crap songs IMO. So I just say, if it sounds good to me I add it to my play list and dont really care who made it.
I would have to say though that I admire Kim Lucas. Her songs are good and sometimes meaningfull.
Other than that, techno style stuff is cool, and stuff composed by like, just stuff people make themselves, like my brothers flat mate in London, he makes cool choons.
I must also mention... Guns And Roses!

I'm into punk rock/alternative. Some of the bands I'm listening to right now are 98 Mute, AFI, The Living End, NOFX, and Tiger Army.
Btw.. I dislicke it when people spell like, licke.

I'd say Of Montreal is my favorite band, but there are way too many others that are just as good or better.

mushroomhead is the best
everyone should start listening to them
*some lyrics to one of the songs*
"locked away in a cage my rage has got the best of me
time finds a way each day of leaving less of me
behind. i find this fight must be won inside the mind, so uptight and confined often blinded by the light"...

Red Snapper
Smashing Pumpkins
Squarepusher
Aphex Twin
Sneakerpimps
Roots Manuvah
Placebo
Sigur Ros

There's loads more too. I have an insatiably large appetite for hugely varied music, hence combos such as Lamb and Pitchshifter...
I don't have any patience wil "nu metal", it just sends me to sleep. Pop for people who like to think they're different. Yawn.

Well of course! Portishead have made some great albums (well, the two that I've got anyway!). I love "Only You" (great video too) - Beth Gibbons has such an amzing voice.
Danmit, how could I have forgotten to add radiohead to my list. Doh!
