A game that is *fun*

In order from highest to lowest priority:-

1. Innovation/Gameplay > something fresh and unique in its own right that sets it apart from the rest. Tight controls, variety in gameplay, pure fun, unexpectable moments from the game!

2. Music > Immersive music that I reminisce to , and music that makes me want to download the songs and listen to them on the attrac3+ player

3. Visuals > As glitch free as possible, colourful, sharp, nice on the eye

4. Online/Multiplayer > Some options for onilne would be nice, downloadable content.

5. Story > A story that's easy to follow, not full of many unecessary twists, just smooth flowing and real to that specific genre of gaming

That'll do it me thinks.

PS Kudos to Dyne for bringing this up

I think a 10 game is not only defined by how fun it is, but its also defined by how much work the development teams put into them. And unlike BaB, I don't think the 10 has to be relitive to what someone may think will come out in the future, its only compared to what's currently out when it does release.

For me.. A perfect 10 is something that fits this description:
1) Even or better graphics/sound then anything released to date. (Might not like that one, but if something doesn't look like the developers worked hard on it I will dock them .1 or .2. If you want the highest score from me, everything has to be on point.)
2) An extra level of polish that goes beyond what people may have thought was possible. A level 10 game shouldn't just be a game, it should be an experience.
3) Of course, good gameplay.. but non repetitive gameplay that's complex enough to keep someone interested, but not so complex that its hard to understand.
4) A good story. (A lot of people may disagree with this too, but personally I think a "10" game needs to tell a good story. Now in the NES days when there was no such thing as telling a good one my criteria would be different, but its 2008.)
