I thought it was a decent excercise in storytelling, but having the story really be about Tommy Lee Jone's character didn't work for me as most of the movie never involved him and its hard to care about a story when the main character is barely in the film.
Also, I thought Anton Chigur was overhyped. He was just your run iof the mill psychopath character with severe features and a odd haircut. Ledger's Joker is FAR superior IMO.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is awesome. I really liked the silent section of my film history class. Those were some good days before the damn talkies took over.

Saw it too yesterday and enjoyed it. I loved Tom Cruise's part in the film. I can see though why some groups are pissed about the retard side of the movie because they do use that quite often.

Re: Last movies you saw
I saw Tropic Thunder today as well. I thought it was pretty good. It's definitely a great concept for a movie and overall I enjoyed it. I don't always like Jack Black, but I liked him here. Bonus: Justin Theroux who is a alum from my college had screenwriting, story, and executive producer credits...

And it is decent, but the movie is too self aware. The first one worked because it was trying to be an adventure. This one is trying to be funny, and when you do that sometimes you fall on your face faster.

My girlfriend wants to know where the hell Guametela bay is.

Saw that last week when browsing the hollywood video shelves and figured what the hell, why not.
I found it to be way too boring (friends did also) and took too long to get to the super high part after abstaining from it for 30 days and even then, it became a letdown. Super Size Me was interesting at least

Saw 21 last night. Not amazing, but glad I saw it. Didn't follow the book too closely, but it's a movie, it needs action.

The book probably didn't follow the true real-life story too closely either.
In real-life, the card counting genius was an asian. In the movie, an asian is the just the goofy, incompetent sidekick.

Re: Last movies you saw
The book was written as non-fiction, and I've never seen it disputed. In fact, it's the only reason they are on the map.
The movie is only "inspired" by the true-story.

Re: Last movies you saw
The Langoliers. Just as great as when I was a kid. I'll give it a 7 because the 2nd half didn't have half the atmosphere/suspense that the first one had.
Btw it's an 2h45m miniseries.
