Yes.
If your government decides to go on a crusade in an attempt to take over half the world, and you honestly don't expect any retaliation...the Japanese joined up with the Germans, who in case you didn’t know, killed millions of Jews. I realize this wasn’t public knowledge till after the war. But, in my defense to that exact argument, which you may or may not use against me, I present you this:

It’ll blow your mind. This also wasn't public knowledge, but it goes to show that there was bad blood on a lot of people's hands.
in a time of war, to say they had it coming, was an understatement
A government is a representation of the people, or control of the people. I'm sure there were a few people that didn't support what the government was doing at the time, but you have to wonder how many there were. And, the main differences is that we warned them. It was't like 9/11 (which was only surprising in the way it was executed, because you and I know people hate America) because it wasn't a blind act without warning. We said, "hey Japan, we have this bomb that kills tons of people, surrender, or we unleash it on you." And they rolled their eyes. If anything is a tragedy, it was bomb 2 like Fox said. They were using their massive population to launch suicide attacks on our troops, is how dispensable their population was at the time. Kamikazes, such a bold form of warfare.
