Journey to the center of the Earth.

I didn't watch it in 3D, but I still thought it was a pretty fun movie to watch.

However, do to massive insomnia, I also watched the commentary (after watching the movie) by Brendan Fraser and the director. The commentary lasts for the entire movie, and I found it amusing as hell just to hear them spurt off inside jokes, how they shot scenes, and hear Brendan Fraser make fun of how terrible parts of the movie are.

I thought all movie commentaries... lasted the entire movie.

I enjoy watching them at times, but it also hurts cuz like to hear what they are talking about but you can't hear movie and commentary.

I've only seen a couple movie commentaries that were only a few minutes long.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I think I liked it. Maybe. Pretty though. I imagine it would look rather nice in high-def.

Ahh most of the commetaries, I've listened to tend to go the entire movie.. that's not always to say there is content to talk about for the entire movie.

I remember one of the first ones I listened to was for American Pie, which was fairly interesting. As they spoke about like camera techniques, placements, how to set up stuff... its all fairly cool from what I remember.

Lakeview Terrace

Sam Jackson can play a good sociopath when he wants to.

Pirates of Silicon Valley. 7/10.
Interesting movie about the beginnings of Apple and Microsoft. The beginning is the most boring though. Fun starts when Steve Jobs loses his mind and starts shouting at his employees who work for 90 hours a week.

Soylent Green. 7/10.
Decent movie from 1973. Another one of those weird takes on the future. The year is 2012 and the earth is overpopulated. Greenhouse effect means there's hardly any crops. People eat synthetic food. Then a rich guy gets murdered for suspicious reasons...
The main character makes the whole movie. He's a cop who takes part of the scene of the crime with him. Liquor, real soap, vegetables... He's from the time where police still punched bad guys until they started talking.

Idiocracy. This is a cult classic in the making. Goddamn hilarious and dead on satire.

Nothing but the Truth

It was an okay movie, which added a lot of points in my book due to the ending, and finding out her original source.

And maybe me curious about journalistic integrity

This Waking Life

Possibly the dumbest movie ever made. So full of horrific pseudo-intellectual, self-aggrandizing bullshit I thought I was going to puke.

The Warriors

Unlike Gremlins, I could see the appeal to the movie and in 30 years, it has aged really well.

Wasn't it good! I liked the cinematography. Like it was filtered but not...I agree. Aged well.

I saw The Good, The Bad, The Weird
Korean western shootem'up. I liked it, a bit drawn out in some scenes but still worthy of a watch.

Inglorious Basterds - I loved the basement drinking scene. imo it made everything else more enjoyable.

Sunshine Cleaning

This was an okay film. I enjoy watching Amy Adams; she's like a slightly less awkward Pam from The Office. The film had wonderful cinematography and I thought several of the setting shots and compositions were very nice. The rest of the film was cute and quirky. It was weird seeing Alan Arkin (the Grandpa) in Sunshine Cleaning after his role as the Grandpa in Little Miss Sunshine. All in all I would recommend it as a renter, but titles with "sunshine" that are better include (but are not limited to): Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Little Miss Sunshine

Dead Silence

This was a fun movie. Growing up with Goosebumps and Child's Play I have vivid childhood memories of reading about possessed dummies. Dead Silence is a B movie that has a lot of elements of a TV show. The acting is average, the cinematography is hit or miss. But the creep and horror elements are old school horror, something sorely missing from the genre today. If you're sick of slasher films, psychological nappers, or gross out films/gore fests/torture porn, then this film is right up your alley. Like King/Kubrick's The Shining or The Skeleton Key, this film relies on good old fashion creepiness and imagination to deliver the scares. I think this film is underrated if you enjoy fun mystery, suspense style horror.

The Thomas Crown Affair (1999).

I've always liked Pierce as Bond, he has a charm to him. The problem was that his movies were never that strong.

This is pretty much him getting to play Bond in a different environment. Less superspy, more suave womanizer.

It is a good movie. Enjoyable character, and some nice twists.

Has anyone ever realized how little discussion we have in this thread at times?
