Green Lantern: Emerald Knights
While I liked bits and pieces of the previous DTV movies I think this one is probably the strongest as a whole. A nice anthology that all ties together.

Re: Last movies you saw
Black Swan
Pretty good, but not as great as it was made out to be. Probably my least favorite Aronofsky film. Though I am glad it didn't turn out to be a Perfect Blue remake as I expected it to be.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Some awesome visuals. Decent story; more a cool idea. And you get Spidey and Joker together.
Sunshine
Great up until the end whenit becomes a slasher flick. Gets a couple points back for it being Mark Strong though.

Oh, there were boobs. In fact there was an entire scene where the killer chased a completely naked woman through a truck stop with hilarious consequences.
But they weren't Jaime King's boobs, and if you've ever seen Sin City you know that she played Goldie, and that they are PERFECT.

In response to Tooth
Sunshine is a great film that may fall a bit flat at the end but all in all is a great movie.
As for GL, I would have to say Wonder Woman is a better film. Characters are more enjoyable and Nathan Fillion does play a bigger part

Re: Last movies you saw
Seems like the general consensus is that WW has been the best of these movies. Perhaps I need to rewatch it but it didn't do much for me on my first viewing.

Re: Last movies you saw
Paul
Wasn't particularly funny. Now I enjoy seeing young earth creationists being made fun of as much as the next guy but it was done in what I thought was a heavy-handed and not at all humorous manner. Felt off. Paul himself was pretty much the only really likeable and funny character. At first it was quite hard not to just picture Seth Rogen every time he talked...very hard actually...but eventually Paul's voice was Paul's voice...and just happened to bare a very strong resemblance to Seth Rogen's. A whole lot of sci-fi references and it was nice seeing Invincible and Brit comic stuff show up though.

Re: Last movies you saw
The Invention of Lying
Very interesting premise. Felt like so much more could have been done with it though. An enjoyable experiment, not sure if so much as a movie.
Daybreakers
Another movie where thought so much more could have been done with the concept. Would have made an interesting television series seeing all aspects of a vampire driven society.
Rango
I think this might be the prettiest ugly movie ever made. Drags a bit in the middle but overall a good time. Everything is just so ugly....but pretty....so much detail to oogle. Really liked how the human characters were done. Wouldn't mind seeing a movie like that.

Best Worst Movie
Documentary about the people involved with making Troll 2, which some consider one of the worst films of all time. It's very sweet in a sad way. Now I guess I may have to actually watch the movie, but maybe not. It looks terrible after all.

Re: Last movies you saw
Been watching more movies now that I can view them in better than youtube quality.
Cold Souls
Quite liked it. Very Charlie Kaufmanesque. And you have Paul Giamatti as Paul Giamatti. Perfect casting.
Stranger Than Fiction
Favorite thing I've seen Will Ferrell in.
The Princess Bride
I got tired of seeing references to this movie online so finally watched (though a number of scenes were familiar...think I might have seen as a wee lad). Fun but don't really get the cult following it has.
Gattaca
Interesting concept.
S1m0ne
Liked Gattaca so thought I would see Niccol's next movie. Only vaguely remembered the commercials for it. Assumed it would be heavy on the sci-fi like Gattaca and be a thriller where the virtual girl comes to life. Nope. A goofy satire that really didn't work. Perhaps I would have enjoyed it more knowing what sort of movie it was going in.
The Road
Couldn't not see Rick and Carl from The Walking Dead as the main characters. Seems like a zombie apocalypse would be ideal. That way humans would at least band together against something instead of everyone being enemies as in this film.

Speaking of... Mere hours after watching the movie this was on reddit's main page: http://www.reddit.com/r/fffffffuuuuu...inconceivable/
Just think how many mildly humorous in-jokes I've been missing all this time.

I saw Horrible Bosses. It was like The Hangover meets Office Space with a couple of really funny gags and two super-star cameos that tied it all together.

Re: Last movies you saw
Cave of Forgotten Dreams (in 3D!)
So now the only 3D movies I have seen are Avatar and a Werner Herzog documentary, go figure... This one was good. Fairly straight-forward exploration of these caves in France that have the world's oldest cave paintings in them, from about 10,000 years ago. Some poetic analysis from the great Herzog's voice as well.
Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest
If you're a fan of the group, it's definitely worth checking out. I never knew most of the stuff because I never really looked into it, but it's very interesting. Well made by Michael Rapaport.
