What happened was the Eagles were finally exposed. I'm a homegrown Eagles fan, but I have no idea how they have as good a record as they do. Their offense, while able to go the distance at any time, is horribly inconsistent and has been all year. They don't put together drives as much as eat up 40 yards at a time when it works, or go 3 and out when it doesn't.

Meanwhile, the defense is pretty average, especially against the pass. They are beat up and I think are worn down from spending so much time on the field this season (a side effect of a dangerous but inconsistent offense).

Personally, if they do get out of Dallas next week, I don't see them going any further.

You sound just like my Dad. Andy Reid always likes small agile defensive players who can make plays (Asante Samuel making lots of interceptions), and like you said, they aren't good against the pass. Dallas also made them look awful against the run. Being small and agile also means that the defense always gets beat at the line of scrimmage.

My main concerns are with the size but that the defense is so beat up. They've had SIX different players start at MLB this year. Seeing that the MLB calls the plays, thats a big issue.

The far larger issue is ball control. The offense eats up no time, whether successful in scoring or not. This obliterates a defense over time, and I think you're really starting to see the defense drag. They really needed the bye...

The Eagles are in the playoffs and the Steelers aren't, so that makes me really happy. I'd be happier if the Eagles were a #2 seed.

I'm still begging for Packers @ Vikings with the Packers winning this time (which could happen if Eagles + Packers win this weekend) This would make me almost as happy as the Eagles winning. I want Favre to fail, and fail hard.

I would literally cry if this happened.

I've been saying this since day 1. All you need to do is stop Adrian Peterson (which seems like everyone is able to do now) and let Favre manage the game. Favre is Mr. Interceptions, especially if you pressure him or if it is cold out. Favre and the Vikings are going down.

One big problem with teams facing them is that the Vikings have home field for much of it, and anything that couldn't be home field is in a dome as well. No cold, and Adrian loves artificial turf.

Personally, I have to give credit where credit is due. Favre has had a fantastic year, and considering his age it makes it even more amazing. To me, this season has established him as one of the top 5 if not the best QB of all time.

Yeah, as much as it crushes me to admit it, Favre is a heck of a Quarterback. He has played very well this season and I think the playoff games will be exciting.
