I cannot believe I still remember my login name and password. I never posted much, but lurked a lot.

I used to go by Bizzy or something even more awkward than my current name, but I think I got banned for being an obnoxious idiot .

Wow, I must have been 14 years old when I joined, because I am 27 now. That is nuts. I still remember the first (or maybe it was the second) Survivor, griand prize was a Gameboy and 2nd prize was Zelda for the N64, where I stayed up all night posting every few minutes for one of the challenges. I think that contributed to a development of a subsequent sleeping disorder . surfin4life was a guy who played that game...Who ran that, does anyone remember?

I have this strange feeling that ign started out as a nintendo fansite, but the wayback archive doesnt confirm my suspicion, even as far back as 1998. I remember www.nintendose.com (were they competition or a rival forum? I forget) and then I forget what happened afterwards that led us to this current situation (I guess social networks like Facebook have contributed to the death of message boards).

I guess maybe some of you remember him...he was more active.

At some point Mushlafa introduced the forum to his friend HappyDude, and I think he became a contributing member or something like that.

What else can I say?

I have been a part of a couple forum communities that have died and it makes me sad, so I am not sure if I feel good or bad that I never invested too much of myself in it.

And so probably you guys dont remember me. But I remember you...

Oh and I have an idea for you guys, whoever is actually on a first name basis or something like that, why dont you (give in to the darkside and) exchange Facebook profiles and maybe you will meet one day?

What about gaming?

I am still a videogaming fan but I just have not had the same amount of free time that I had when I was a kid. However, now that I have a son, maybe I will soon have an excuse to get back into it . I do have an Xbox One, which I use mainly for NBA2k15 and GTA5. I also play the Kinect Sports game from time to time.

Okay, thats it for my rant.

I believe www.nintendose.com was the site that came before gametavern, and then Nintendose shut down and everyone went to either gametavern or some other site I cant remember the name. I choose GT and I dont rememember why and the rest is history! And I think I remember you!?

It seemed so arbitrary at the time. I chose GT because Blue_Fire/takegiantsteps came here and we were the same age. That was important at the time because we were, like, 14 and on the younger end of the spectrum for NDose users. I also followed Shadow Link who was Psycho Link (I think) at the time here entirely because he had "Link" in his username and so did I (being Link1130 at the time).

I did have an account at AdvanceGB, but never really visited much.

back in the day I went to advanceGB over this mostly because, Goombastomper and ghettodude were like my super best buds on here and I went along with that. We were a tight community until some shit happened with the guy running the site. Also, Skooby was kind of a dick.

Anyone here a redditor? I made the http://www.reddit.com/r/gametavern subreddit in the hopes someday our community could be revived there. It's private for now, but I'd like to invite people. Right now it's only reserved, no customization has been done yet, but I'd love to implement something if anyone has any ideas. My reddit user is davidsd. Send me a message if interested.

Last post...for sure. I for some reason just had the overwhelming urge to update my "Now Playing" from the previous "Metroid Prime 3"

Came back to happily report that I've reacquired access to my original Steam account that was hijacked about ten years ago. The asshat who stole the account changed the associated email and the Steam profile name. Vivendi had been in charge of Steam support back in the day, and would not help me get the account back.

Well, I just built a new gaming PC and decided I was going to try my darndest to get this account back. One support request and two days later and Valve had recovered my account. The person who had control of my account has now lost access to about $1,000 worth of software that he'd added to it in the last ten years. It's all mine now.

Justice has finally come, and it feels good.

Anyway, I get the feeling this place won't be around much longer. But I still reminisce about Nintendose and GT. We were a great community. Take care everybody.
