Cube Nation have reported on the Boom announcement that has been rumoured for the past few months, the translation is courtesy of N-Philes.

"The Japanese publication Dorimaga has just given more details concerning "Megaton Announcement". The magazine reports that a general public show could be organized before the end of the year in Japan. Nintendo and various companies/sub-divisions could thus reveal future titles on the GameCube and Game Boy Advance at this event.

In this case, the "Megaton Announcement" would infact be the announcement of several projects by the companies affiliated with Nintendo GameCube. Is this why Spaceworld 2002 was cancelled? According to Famitsu magazine, it should not be long until Nintendos "Megaton Announcement" is announced officially by the firm in Kyoto.

The magazine also commented that two large GameCube/Game Boy Advance projects will be revealed within the next two weeks!

At the current time we can assume companies such as Enix, Square, Namco, Capcom or the big N itself are involved with the two projects.

The pressure intensifies, as not much more time is left before the "Megaton Announcement" is confirmed."

I hope the announcement is that they will never make a Mario Kart game again... it's ike monopoly, with each new console it gets worse

Unless the announcement is that GTA4 is exclusive to GCN, I doubt it will blow up GCN sales

But anyway, It will be interesting to see what Nintendo has up thier sleve.

It's always good to know why they cancelled Spaceworld 2002. That's the only doubt I've had from them, in all honesty. But, it looks like this will be good. Thanks for posting!

I doubt Mario Kart would be megaton... I can't think of any games Nintendo could announce that would be megaton...

they already have Mario out... Zelda in the works... Metroid is out...

Maybe a complete remake of OoT with Ura Zelda added into the game (as in the parts of Ura Zelda being mixed with the normal OoT stuff, not two seperate games)? That could be megaton... kinda... Since it seems like so many people would think that'd be awesome... Or maybe a remake of both OoT and MM?

I can't get my mind off Zelda though... Cuz it's my favorite Nintendo series (infact, the only one I really like a whole lot) and a remake of OoT and MM would be awesome

A 3D remake of LttP could be... awesom...er... To me at least

But it's probably nothing Zelda related, unless maybe it's announcing that there will be a second Zelda game in the works soon and it won't be cel-shaded...

But whatever, I think it'll be nothing major, but everyone will be like OMG THAT'S AMAZING then later end up dissapointed like BLueFire said

If its Mario Kart online, lets just say I will be very pleased. Mario Kart simplay kicks ass, any way you look at it. And it being online is the awsomeest thinge...

the only real megaton thing i can think of is if GTA goes nintendo exclusive and nintendo announces GTA4 multiplayer online... but then again. that would require the world ending. ...... hell has frozen over before (final fantasy anyone?)

Only possible megaton things there are MGS3 and Pokemon...

Megaton is kind of a hard word to live up to

Aha! It must be bigger. Who cares if they patented an MMORPG? Online wouldn't be too "Megaton", in all honesty. But it seems that way with this report. Maybe the exclusive 5 from Capcom are just a taste of what's to come?
