Who the $%&@ let Gary Johnson back to the grown ups table? He makes Ron Paul look smooth.

Rick Perry reminds me of the high school quarterback who decides to run for class president solely based on his looks and popularity...

I enjoy his long pauses when he collects his thoughts. It's very (not) reassuring.

I don't like Santorum, but I find it hilarious how he slaps Perry around like he's an ignorant child. He's brutalized Perry in every debate he's been in. Romney should send him flowers.

Is Rick Perry drunk? He'll get torn apart by Obama.

At least Johnson got in a good zinger at the end...

I'm not sure if this is a provocative statement after the debate, but I think Perry is done.

Huntsman had another solid debate and is spiking in the polls in New Hampshire ... I think it's between him and Romney now.

Rick Perry for Best Debate Performance Ever.

"I would cut the departments of Education, Commerce, and, uh ... what was the third one again? ... um ... Oops?"

I missed it, but I heard it was a pretty good debate.

It was good. I don't think it's a coincidence that it was hosted by CNBC either.

The best part is when he looks to Ron Paul for help, and Paul says "The EPA?"

Rick Perry: "yeah, the EPA!"

The Panel: "You would remove the EPA?"

Rick Perry: "Wait, no"

It's especially bad when his entire platform is basically based on (1) energy and (2) implementing a flat tax. To be fair, Perry is a lot better in interviews and one-on-one settings, but he should at least be adequate in debates. I think he's only been above the adequate threshold a few times.

Right now I see a Romney/Gingrich ticket. Newt has an amazing mind for politics and policy, but he also has a lot of history that can create "weapons of mass distraction" during what will be a brutal general election.

Having Gingrich as VP will bring along a lot of the hardline fiscal/small government conservatives that do not trust Romney on those issues, while diminishing the impact of his somewhat shady history.

The only other person I can see as a potential VP candidate is Marco Rubio who is young and will attract Latino votes and Florida votes that Republicans sorely need in 2012. Actually, now that I think of it, I think Rubio will be the first person Romney asks, but I doubt he'll take it. Rubio wants it all, and I'm not sure VP is a springboard to the presidency anymore.
