In this hustle and bustle day and age?

The less time your ipod exists, the more time you'll spend on the cutting edge of technology.

Old, bulky original ipod suddenly dies. It gets Apple cancer, and stops functioning.
Now you're left with the choice:
-Do you not get a new ipod, and remain ipod-less.
-Do you buy a new one.

Now if you buy a new one, you have more choices:

-Big, bulky ipod
-Ipod nano
-Ipod Video

And thusly, Apple is saving you from many years of ridicule due to your ipod, in an ipod nano's world.

You know, Apple can do things wrong every once in a while. They are not, regardless of public and media opinion, perfect.

In fact, there a list of things to criticize, such as overpricing, elitism, price gouging, being the "pokemon" of tech toys (gotta get em all!), and their greedy marriage to their own proprietary peripherals, just to name a few.

BUT... they make some great product. Their video editing software is brilliant, as well as Garageband, and the iPhone is as sweet as it was made out to be. I played with my friend's iPhone for about 5 minutes and I was addicted.

But back to criticisms... I'll wait for the price drop in 2 months when they release the iPhone Nano that they've had waiting in the warehouse for a year.

My sister's iPod Nano (Gen 1) stopped working but its only because she treated it like shit. Stuffing it into her tight-ass jeans, sitting on it, etc. It was the display that stopped functioning, the rest worked fine.

I guess I've been fortunate though. My 5GB (Gen 1) iPod still works as does my current 8GB (Gen 2) iPod Nano.

Did you buy the AppleCare with your iPod?

My Gen 1 iPod (10GB) works wonders. So does my iPod Photo (30GB) which went to Iraq with me. My 2nd gen Nano also is almost brand new. Not a scratch on the thing.
