What kind of gift do you prefer?
Is the general board slow today or am I just hyperactive? Anyway, this question is based 70% on curosity and 30% on boredom...
What's your "ideal gift?" Money or an actual item?
Some people prefer an actual item because it shows sincerity on behalf of the giver. Others prefer money because that way they can get exactly what they want (budget pending). Anyways, post your preference and any other thoughts that may follow...

Money is usually good with me unless the person knows what I like.

I'll take any gift I can use, or that is useful to me.

money... hey, money is an item... and I like it
But really, half the time I get an item, I don't like it... err, unless it's like from my parents who know what I like and will actually buy it... whereas most of my relatives on my dad's side hate videogames and the like and instead opt to waste their money on stuff I dislike... and I know it's "the thought that counts", but I don't care about the thought when any other time they see me they hound me about school or how I play too many videogames, which just puts me in a bad mood
When I was younger, I prefered getting items from friends just cuz..... well I dunno.... *shrugs*
but now that I don't have any friends (or at least I say that) I don't get any gifts from the friend group
So... money money money... A man's gotta pay for his drugs someway, y'know...

Well money, unless I tell them I want something. I find that if I ask my parents for a game they might give it to me, but If I ask them for 50 bucks...they are not so giving. And I dont charge tax so it would be cheaper...

an Item no doubt
Why? Because some items are priceless, while money will always have a price.

Items.
Why, well items are something which I can treasure, keep, invest memories in and well, I just hold dear to my possessions and many of them hold great sentimental value to me.

I would say money but 90% of the time, I wind up using the money for something like gas or other expenses and never getting something I really want out of it. At least with an item, I get something I can hang onto for a while. And if I really want something else, I can always return.

I think it really depends on who the gift is from. I like getting money from my family because I use it for stuff I want, but if it's from a friend I like gifts. Giving friends money just doesn't sound right.
