I've been meaning to make this thread for a long time, so here it is. I listen to a shitload of music, and I have noticed that there are a lot of songs about water: oceans, rain, drinking water, baths, etc.! What the fuck is up with that?
Quote:
In the easy chair with my boots on
Melted whiskey in my hand
I couldn't have been asleep for more than three hours
Time to go to work again
Once more I beat the sunrise
And there's a dark breeze at my door
Raise the water from the well up to my face
How could a man like me be poor?
As long as there's water
Chilly wet water
Gimme some of that cool water
Quote:
There's no bathroom, and there is no sink.
The water out of the tap is very, hard to drink,
Very hard to drink.
Quote:
If it keeps on rainin', levee's goin' to break
There's more that I cannot recall, because like I said I have been meaning to make this thread for a long time. So post songs about water!
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
I like watchin' the puddles gather rain
Quote:
we took the dead man in sheets to the river
flanked by love
deep enough to dive
deep enough to dive
be here now
Quote:
I want to swim away but don't know how
Sometimes it feels just like I'm falling in the ocean
Let the waves up take me down
Let the hurricane set in motion... yeah
Let the rain of what I feel right now...come down
Let the rain come down
Seriously, this is some profound shit. We can add water to the big 3 themes that songs are about: Love/Sex, Drugs, Being a Rock star, and Water. Those 4 themes sum up 99.999% of music.
The nervous, the drifting, the heaving
Wash away us all, take us with the floods
Then throughout the day mankind played with grenades
Cold hearted world
And at night they might bait the pentagram
Extinguishing the sun
Wash away man, take him with the floods
Quote:
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.
Quote:
I come from the water
I crawled upon the shore
I left my brothers there
I got what I came for
