How are these two guys more musically creative and bluesy sounding than rock supergroups like Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, or Them Crooked Vultures? I guess it's not totally fair....we have an alt. rock grunge group, and two classic rock groups, but still....
A good song. Most of my friends were all into the Black Keys like 2 years ago and I was mostly like meh...but they have been starting to grow on me recently.

Easy. The Black Keys are a blues band with rock influences, not a rock band with blues influences.
I love the new stuff, but to be honest, it doesn't touch their music when they were just a guitar and drums. God, I've never hard such a sound come from two instruments...
And thank you Prof S for finding that Letterman performance....I love how at the end of musical performances that Dave likes, he checks in with Paul to get his opinion. If Paul likes it, does that validate Dave's feelings, haha?
