She probably knew him from when she most likely died when she got shot (if for a split second) and then transfered concsiousness to the other one.

Not really.
Because I figure, if I was somehow in that situation - and was in front of someone who took the form of a dead body of someone I knew was dead - I'd definitely ask them that.
