As good as a Hollywood powerhouse film will ever be. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it. It was paced slow though, so you need to be in the right mood for it.
Jobless, besieged by creditors, and abandoned by his wife, the once silver medalist Tae-shik has sunk to street hustling, becoming a human punching bag. Meanwhile, young Sang-hwan's delinquent ways land him behind bars. Both men look to boxing to turn around lives gone astray, aiming for the amateur title, ultimately pitting them against each other, but more importantly, against themselves.

Re: Last movies you saw
Miller's Crossing (1990) wow. Can't believe I waited so long to watch this. One of thee best gangster pics I've seen.
So far Coens:
The Big Lebowski
Miller's Crossing
O Brother Where Art Thou
No Country For Old Men
Fargo
Blood Simple
Burn After Reading
Raising Arizona
Barton Fink
Intolerable Cruelty
The Ladykillers
Still need to see The Hudsucker Proxy, Crimewave, and The Man Who Wasn't There. I have a feeling they'll be worth watching as well.
I've seen lately,
The Producers (Mel Brooks) Simply hilarious. I think I might have liked Young Frankenstein more just because it's Mel Brooks' Frankenstein! The Producers opening scenes are squirmworthy brilliance.
dummy (2003) Adrien Brody and Milla Jovovich in an ok funny film. Kinda girl movie.
Blood Simple (1984) It was ok for a Coens' film. I think the subject matter just unsettled me to the point of wondering why they couldn't have written a different movie. It's good though.
Location: Isle Of Wight. Hey! Who stole my 5000 doubloons?

S Darko - This just hit cinemas here in the UK, which is bollocks since it came out in the U.S in may or something. Not that I went to the cinema to see it anyway
On the whole I actually thought the film was ok. It would probably not make much sense if you had not seen the first one (Donnie Darko) and I imagine some people would find it hard to follow anyway.
I think people slated the film because it is different to it's predecessor but the point is, that this is a unique story in itself, derived from the essence of the first film, I mean, what did people want? A remake?
I did think the first film was better though.

The first movie is one of the best films of our generation imo. Still haven't watched S.Darko, but I haven't heard good things about it. Still interested though
And now the trilogy is complete. Such a confusing movie with the constant flashbacks. There are basically two interwoven stories going on at the same time...at different times. Throw in the fact that one of the main characters is losing his grip on reality thinking he's the guy from the flashback parts and it just gets worse.
What made it even more confusing is I think saw the edited version of the first movie, where they changed the ending for mainland China, Malaysia and Singapore to please mainland officials by affirming that crime does not pay by having the baddie gets his comeuppance. The third movie continues along from the original film ending so I was like wasn't he not there...doing that...because they got him...from that other thing? Wish I knew about that edit going into it.
Pales in comparison to the first two, but still decent.
For no reason, I just decided to watch it, as I've never seen it before.
And you know what, I actually thought it was pretty funny. Going in, I didn't expect that. I didn't realize how funny of an actor Tom Hanks can actually be.
I thought the humour was stupid-funny, ala Airplane!.

The sequel to Genius Party. A collection of five animated shorts by five different directors. Less story driven than the first one and far more trippier. I imagine this would be a perfect movie to watch high.
