For record, I am speaking about the most left of the leftists, not your average democrat or even liberal. There is evil at the fringes of both left and right thought. The problem is Santorum isn't what I would call a real conservative. He is a theocratic fascist and fascism is a far-left philosophy. (Anarchy being the farthest right philosophy).
