Question Metal Gear Solid 4 Exclusive to the Cube?

Well, before I venture much further into this rumor, I'll just like to say I dno't really believe it, but stranger things have happened before so you never know.

Quote:
I'm sure by now you are all aware of the fact that a Metal Gear Solid game was announced for GameCube a few weeks back. Shigeru Miyamoto had discussed it while in Paris, and then, only a few days later, it was confirmed by Konami. After this happened, gamers everywhere couldn't help but wonder which MGS it would be. Would it be a port of MGS 2? Would it be a remake of the original MGS as many had thought? Or least likely, would it be a completely new addition to the series?
I'm sure there has been many theories thrown out in regards to what exactly the Metal Gear game on the Cube would be, and this is just another one.

Quote:
Well, according to the Official French Nintendo Magazine, it seems that the game is in fact Metal Gear Solid 4! Not only that, but in a move that no doubt shocked the entire gaming community, Nintendo has apparently gained the title as an exclusive! This is definitely the kind of announcement that sells sytems. Many more people will be driving home from their favorite retailer with GameCubes in hand once they get the news.
Well, I don't know, I wouldn't say Nintendo breaking news in europe is weird, they have done it on several occassions, and it was where the whole Metal Gear news broke out.
Tying it up as an exclusive seems even more farfetched than anything, but eh.

Quote:
What's that you say? What happened to MGS 3? Well, despite the fact that the magazine printed it as MGS 4, the odds are that this actually is MGS 3, and that they let a terrible typo get through. We don't know for sure, but we hope to get confirmation on this soon.
Well if I'm not mistaken Metal Gear Solid 3 has already been confirmed for the Ps2 now what would be the sense in releaseing part 3 on the Ps2 then switchin over part 4 to the Cube? I mean RE did it, but the PSX hadn't had a new version of the series in quite some time to begin with.

Anyhow, I still don't buy it, but here is a scan from the magazine. Wonder if it's the April issue...

Interesting indeed, though skeptical.

Europe is getting tons of attention lately. It seems that after Miyamoto went there, a lot of announcements have been made in Europe. The MP redo's for Europeans, the exclusive Zelda bundle, Miyamoto being there, the MGS announcement, and now this! What's next?! But back on track. This seems skeptical, but strange things have happened. If it is exclusive, it might stay exclusive for a time period and then it will be brought to other systems. Kind of like MGS2: Substance on XBox and eventually coming to PS2 or Splinter Cell on XBox and eventually PS2/Cube.

Ummm... no.

A game with all it's fanbase who are PS2 owners... surely not.

That's of course if Konami wants to turn it's 4.5 million copies sold to something like 150,000 k like MGS2:substance on the X-Box.

Well I would buy a gamecube for MGS1 remake... I'm just waiting till it drops till it's dirt cheap.

It's not that cheap to supply your X-Box and PS2 with games. 3 consoles would kill me... I'm probably going to sell my X-Box. I've bought it for 1 game... JSRF... if there is no sequel announced at THIS e3 then I'm selling it.

EDIT: I'll stick with orginal confirmation that MGS1 is being remade for GCN... that had reliable sources back it up.

I'll wait for an official announcement.

Not seeing the next MGS game on PS2 or PS3 would be a shocker...and I mean a big one. MGS has been a Playstation franchise thus far, and has been a huge success. To see it exclusively on another system (particularly Gamecube) would be a surprise to many a folk.

Why 'better' it?

Oh, and I don't know, if the toon shading is like that found in Killer 7, then it would be pretty slick . But there's nothing wrong with the current style anyway.
