And yes...I finally did recieve the copy of GGXX I ordered off of ebay. I pulled it out of the padded package and took a few moments of silence gazing upon the brand new game. Factory sealed and all. I took care when opening it not to damage the box, then I read through the instruction booklet and familiarized myself with most of the normal concepts. Then I started playing it. I took a little time to just go around and look at all the characters (they all look so cool!), before I selected one. I ended up picking Slayer, mostly because he's a vampire.

Well, I must say the game is a bit unusual...I'm currenly training with slayer, trying to master all of his moves. I have one question: What's the boost gauge for? I never really seen myself using it for anything.

I'm also having some trouble with Roman Cancels...could someone explain to me in detail how they work?

Awesome.

Roman cancels are simple. They're also known as a parry. Just remember you have to have your tension gauge at 50% or else they won't work. Basically, you have to mash 3 buttons at the same time you are hit with an attack by your oponent. Just, you can't use R1/you dust button. This works extremely well in tournament play, because it's usually heated enough to fill your tension gauge easily. Are you having trouble with the combo parts after too?

Boost gauge tells you if you can pull off your "focus" move in order to cast your insta-death move on the opponent. This isn't very effective unless you have a lot of tension. Your tension bar will turn into another bar, and that will show you how long you are boosted for. After that, your only worthwhile move is your instadeath move. I never found it competent with May, because the move isn't the normal 653653H. May's is more like 9865398653H, and you have to be RIGHT beside your opponent to boot. Annoying.

You only have one chance to perform your insta-death move. After that, you're left with NO bar if it's a miss. Not cool at all.

But yes, Slayer is a great character.
