different, yes and no.

one reason. console split screens have framerate and detail drops in split screen. Games like SSX, whiz by you so fast its pretty damn annoying with a split screen.

but yes. basically its onlin or nothing. I'll play a multiplayer that shares a screen, aka a fighter or a sports game. RARELY any that split it.

SSX 3 i play online. its about a million times better then playing with a split screen.

Correction stu. SSX online is where its at. get a lot more of a challenge (depending on who you play) then you will in single player.
